We support the development of human resources for the nuclear energy sector
The Faculty of Materials Science and Industry Digitalization is actively participating in the university-wide nuclearization program, which aims to prepare specialists essential for the dynamically developing nuclear industry.
As part of a project implemented at our university, aimed at developing the competencies of future staff for the nuclear energy sector, a comprehensive program consisting of theoretical and practical components was developed.
In June and July, the theoretical component was held, during which participants acquired knowledge of the fundamentals of nuclear energy. Then, in the second, elective, part of the program, students had the opportunity to choose courses that suited their interests, conducted at the Materials Innovation Laboratory.
Among the proposed topics, two topics related to materials science were particularly popular:
- Structural materials for nuclear power plants,
- Materials innovations for nuclear energy.
These classes will be taught by Grzegorz Moskal, PhD, DSc, Eng, and Maciej Mrówka, MSc, Eng, specialists in materials science and advanced materials technology.
The Faculty's involvement in the nuclearization program is a significant step toward educating highly qualified engineers who will support the future development of safe and modern nuclear energy in Poland.
