Inauguration of the 2025/2026 academic year at the Faculty of Materials Science and Engineering
The Dean of the Faculty of Materials Science and Engineering, along with the Vice-Deans, are pleased to invite you to the ceremonial inauguration of the 2025/2026 academic year, which will take place on October 8, 2025, at 10:00 AM in the Main Hall of Building A at 8 Krasińskiego Street in Katowice.
This event is one of the most important in our faculty's academic calendar, symbolizing the beginning of a new year full of challenges, scientific discoveries, and development opportunities for students, doctoral candidates, and faculty.
The ceremony program includes:
- National Anthem
- Opening Ceremony and Welcome
- Speech by the Dean of the Faculty of Materials Science and Engineering, Prof. Krzysztof Nowacki
- Matriculation of First-Year Students
- Performance of the Song "Gaude Mater Polonia"
- Appeals by invited guests and a representative of the Student Government
- Inaugural Lecture by Prof. Wojciech Szkliniarz, entitled "Titanium – a Metal with the Strength of a Mythical Giant."
- Dean's Diploma and Award Ceremony
- Ending of the ceremony.
