The Fire People's Parade

On May 4, 2025, the official celebration of Steelworker's Day took place in Chorzów, inaugurated by a symbolic Fire People Parade. The event, which brought together representatives of the steel, cultural, and scientific communities, was also attended by Professor Krzysztof Nowacki (Dean of the Military Institute of Metallurgy) and Professor Jacek Pieprzyca.
The celebrations in Chorzów are part of nationwide initiatives promoting intangible cultural heritage related to steelmaking. The event was organized as part of the "Academy of Leaders of Steelworks Heritage" project, supported by the Minister of Culture and National Heritage from the Cultural Promotion Fund.
The parade, culminating in a fireworks display, was not only a spectacular opening to the celebrations but also an opportunity to commemorate the role of steelmaking in the history and development of the region. Further celebrations are planned for FLORIANFEST – the Family Steelworks Festival, which will feature over 30 educational and artistic events.
