Is it possible to talk about a PhD in 3 minutes? Yes, it's possible! Find out how young researchers from Silesian universities perform under the pressure of a ticking clock and what they have to say about their doctoral projects.
WHEN:
until April 22 – send us a 3-minute video of your presentation presenting the issues of your doctoral thesis
until April 28 – evaluation of video performances by the jury and selection of 20 people who will perform in the eliminations
May 10 – eliminations (1:00 PM, New Technologies Centre, Konarskiego 22B, Gliwice). During the elimination round, the jury will select 10 finalists.
June 6 – FINAL

What is Three Minute Thesis®?
Three Minute Thesis® (3MT®) is a global competition in science communication licensed by the University of Queensland (Australia). The first competition took place in 2008 and so far has been organized by 600 universities and institutions in 59 countries. This year, once again, doctoral students of all Silesian universities have the opportunity to participate in the competition. Their task will be to present the topics related to their doctoral dissertation in the most accessible way for a wide audience in only 3 minutes!
This year we want to organize two editions of 3MT®:
- in May and June for people who want to present their doctoral dissertation topics in English and practice their communication skills in this language,
- in November – the traditional Silesian edition, organized since 2017 by CPN in Polish (check this).
