0Digital Image Correlation is a real-time displacement and deformation measurement technique. The results are presented in the form of color maps of displacements and deformations, thanks to which it is possible to verify the formulated numerical models. During the measurements, not only static images are obtained, but it is also possible to visualize the deformation process in the form of animations. This gives, in addition to measuring the values of the parameters tested, the possibility of analyzing the deformation process itself, including the observation of fracture processes, crack propagation and destruction of various materials and structures.
The system enables:
- measurement of displacements with an accuracy of 1 µm,
- precise determination of such mechanical parameters as Young's modulus E, Poisson number,
- determination of selected mechanical parameters for various areas of the sample during one endurance test.
