0The BTS Smart optical system for comprehensive motion analysis is based on the technology of passive markers reflecting the emitted infrared radiation in paired with Kistler dynamometric platforms, a set for the analysis of EMG muscle activity and cameras for recording video images.
The BTS Smart system is widely used in the field of medicine and sports. The most frequently studied human activity with the use of this system is gait. The obtained results of such a movement analysis carried out for a patient with dysfunctions are compared to the normative ranges obtained for healthy people. This allows for an objective and quantitative indication of the patient’s deviations from the correct pattern. Other motor activities can also be analyzed, e.g. rehabilitation exercises and activities of everyday life.
Examples of application of the system for comprehensive motion analysis BTS Smart are as follows:
- assessment of the patient's locomotor system condition based on the performed motor task (walk, jump, etc.),
- assessment of the effectiveness of the applied treatment / rehabilitation method (preventive, surgical, pharmacological, with orthopedic equipment),
- determining the degree of dysfunction with the use of the motor task performance (walking, any movement),
- planning a treatment strategy and physical improvement (preventive, operational, pharmacological, with the use of orthopedic supplies),
- assessment of gait asymmetry and other motor tasks,
- assessment of the correctness of the performed motor task in the field of sport (jump, fencing, dancing, riding a stationary bike).
We carry out our tests according to the client individual instructions. We’re open to determine the course of research for non-standard requirements.
