The specialisation will impart content in the field of:

  • materials for medical and dental prosthetics, including biomaterials and methods of surface modification with the application of modern technologies for the shaping of surface layers and coatings to improve the quality of the final form of medical and prosthetic products used during the diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation of patients
  • selection of techniques and technologies, as well as methods of manufacturing finished medical devices, to obtain their final form in accordance with the recommendations of the applicable guidelines and standards
  • designing personalized implants, modern implantation systems and surgical instruments and their miniaturized form taking into account the medical sterilization process as well as hospital and rehabilitation equipment for the purposes of the medicine of the future
  • preparation of technical-drawing and technical-implementation documentation that encompasses the medical device assessment procedure, including clinical procedure, essential requirements, risk analysis, registration of the device in the Office for Registration of Medicinal Products and others required by the European Directive

  • designing implants, hospital and rehabilitation equipment with the use of intelligent materials for medicine, including personalized medicine,
  • manufacture of the final medical device using modern manufacturing techniques on the basis of concepts designed in CAD software,
  • ability to implement and register a medical device taking into account not only the European Commission guidelines but also normative recommendations,
  • functioning in a scientific and research environment,
  • solving complex practical problems by planning research, analysing the obtained results and formulating factual conclusions on their basis,

Studies at the Faculty of Biomedical Engineering, specializing of Manufacturing Engineering of Implants, Hospital and Rehabilitation Equipment, allowed us to gain extensive knowledge in the field of design and manufacturing technology of medical devices and devices used in prosthetics. This knowledge allowed me to start work and develop my skills in the RS-Team company specializing in the dental industry in the field of modern CAD / CAM technologies. We work as an application specialist, where we deal with customer technical support, training, creating new solutions and technologies for the production of dental elements in the field of machining with the use of CNC milling machines.

I recommend the department of Biomedical Engineering, I acquired basic knowledge there, among others, in the field of dentistry. Currently I work at RS-Team as a junior application specialist. I deal with clinical and laboratory scanners and their applications used in dentistry.
