Our Young Scientists at a Prestigious IUPAC Symposium
From 12 to 17 July 2026, Karolina Socha, MSc Eng., and Patryk Mroczko, MSc Eng., represented the Faculty of Chemistry of the Silesian University of Technology at the 30th IUPAC Symposium on Photochemistry, held in Zagreb, Croatia.
The presented research focused on the design and characterization of perylene derivatives as photosensitizers, their ability to generate reactive oxygen species, and their immobilization on ZnO surfaces for the development of stable photoactive hybrid materials.
Participation in the conference provided an excellent opportunity to present the research results to the international scientific community, exchange knowledge and experience, and engage in discussions with researchers working in the fields of photochemistry and photoactive materials.
