Image data compression

The volume of image data that we currently process in various domains such as biology, medicine, or remote sensing can easily make the image transfer and storage extremely difficult or even infeasible. To tackle this practical issue, we develop the data compression algorithms – both lossy and lossless – that are suitable for image and video compression. Such techniques can ultimately help us address the problems concerned with the limited transmission bandwidth and storage requirements.
