The competition “Golden Biret 2026” starts – submit your candidate!

Silesian University of Technology invites students, PhD students, and employees to participate in the “Golden Biret 2026” competition – a unique initiative the aim of which is to distinguish people particularly involved in the development of modern didactics and improving the quality of education.

The competition is part of the Education Day of the Silesian University of Technology 2026, during which the results will be announced, and awards will be presented to the winners. It is an excellent opportunity to appreciate academic teachers and PhD students who inspire students, introduce innovative teaching methods, as well as staff who carry out teaching projects and create unique opportunities for development for the entire academic community.

 Competition categories:

Candidates can be submitted in 10 categories:

  • Didactic project,
  • Didactic innovations,
  • Use of AI in didactics,
  • Activities in collaboration with industry,
  • Activities in international cooperation,
  • A doctoral student conducting didactic classes,
  • Mentor,
  • PBL supervisor,
  • Student Science Club supervisor,
  • Didactics – Grand Prix - the highest distinction awarded for a special contribution to the development of academic didactics.

Schedule of the contest

  • 23rd of March – 7th of April – acceptance of candidates’ applications via the online form: https://forms.office.com/e/3HihxjsAWi,
  • April 13th – announcement of the nominees selected by the Awards Committee,
  • April 14th – 28th – voting of the academic community via the online form,
  • May 12th – the awards ceremony during the Education Day of the Silesian University of Technology.

Who can be a candidate?

The candidate may be:

  • Academic teacher or PhD student conducting didactic classes at the Silesian University of Technology,
  • Employee managing / implementing didactic projects.

Applications may be submitted by students, doctoral students, and university employees with an active account in the university domain.

How to submit a candidate?

Applications are accepted only through the online form. The form must:

  • indicate the competition category,
  • briefly justify the application, describing the actions and achievements of the Candidate.

The “Golden Biret 2026” competition is a chance to appreciate people who passionately develop didactics and inspire the next generations of students. If you know a lecturer or doctoral student who is distinguished by their commitment to education, or an employee conducting exceptional didactic projects – apply for their candidacy and help promote good practices at our University!
