Science Slam “Po Ślōnsku”

Pozōr! Ruszōmy z nowõm inicjatywōm! Attention! New initiative is on its way! Take part in the “Science Slam po Ślōnsku” and present your research, projects, and scientific activities in Silesian language. 

What is Science Slam? 

Science slam is a form of science popularization that involves short speeches, during which scientists present research or ideas in an accessible, engaging, and creative way. What counts is a clear message, an attractive formula and contact with the audience, which usually decides who the wins.

Who can take part in “Science Slam po Ślōnsku”?

• scientists, researchers,
• Ph. D students

from universities and research units in Poland, who know the Silesian language and in it can talk about their research and scientific ideas.

Stages of the event

1. By February 1^st, 2026: Application form with the submission of a 3-minute video with a speech in Silesian language presenting research and scientific projects implemented by the participant.
2. Second half of February:  The video materials will be evaluated by a jury of experts in linguistics, science popularization and scientific communication and education. They will select 6 participants who will speaking in the finals.
3. On March 20^th, 2026: the finals with live performance in front of the audience voting for the best performance and jurors.
