Hackathon Creaton 2026 Competition
We would like to invite you to take part in the Hackathon Creaton Competition, organized by the Silesian University of Technology, the Strategic Partner ORLEN S.A., and the substantive Partner ORLEN Południe S.A. The competition is addressed to students, PhD students, and employees of the Silesian University of Technology – young scientists (up to 5 years from obtaining the doctoral degree).
The aim of the competition is to develop innovative solutions on topics prepared by ORLEN S.A. and ORLEN Południe S.A. In the Hackathon, they will be represented by exceptional experts who will mentor the participants, as well as answer questions about work and offer internships and work placements.
Competition teams: up to 20 teams of 2-3 people (order of entry is decisive)
Project evaluation Board: 2 persons from the University, 2 representatives from ORLEN
Awards: The winners of the first three places of the competition will receive valuable prizes.
THE SCHEDULE OF THE EVENT:
1st day: 26th of May 2026:
08.30 – 09.30: Launch of the Hackathon and discussion of the Competition Rules and Competition issues.
09.30 – 10.00: A workshop run by ORLEN SA employees concerning the preparation of a pitch-deck presentation.
10.00 – 17.00: Work of teams on a selected issue, with the support of mentors representing Partners
2nd day: 27th of May 2026:
08.30 – 08.45: Start of the second day of the Hackathon.
08.45 – 10.45: Continuation of the work of the teams on the solution, discussion of the assumptions with mentors and preparation for the presentation before the Board.
10.45: Completion of the work of the teams and submission of the Competition Work by the teams to the Competition Board
11.00 – 13.00: Presentation of the competition works by the Teams to the Board and other participants of the Hackathon in the form of a 3-5-minute presentation.
13:00 to 14.00: The deliberations of the Board and the selection of the best works of the competition.
14.00 - 14.30: Completion of the Hackathon, announcement of results, award ceremony.
