Doctoral student of the Silesian University of Technology with "Kolos" Award in Travel Category
Mateusz Wrazidło, a doctoral student of the Silesian University of Technology, received the "Kolos" Award in the Travel category. The chapter of this travelling award appreciated him "for his sensitivity and empathy towards the local community, as well as perseverance and reliability during the documentation of Tepui in Guyana, crowned by the publication of scientific research".
"Kolos" Awards are honorary travel awards given annually for achievements made in the past year. The awards are presented during the National Meeting of Travellers, Sailors and Mountaineers.
Mateusz Wrazidło is a doctoral student associated with the Department of Fundamentals of Mechinery Design at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering of the Silesian University of Technology. However, his scientific attention is mainly focused on the study of Pantepui environment - a region located in South America. Recently, Mateusz Wrazidło revealed mistakes in South America’s geographic nomenclature of naming table mountains locally known as "tepui", which are located around the border of Guyana and Venezuela.
