Communications Section tasks
The Communications Section is the administrator of the University's teletechnical infrastructure and is responsible for its technical condition and proper operating conditions. Any changes to the network and its modifications as well as the purchase and connection of additional devices require the consent of the Communications Section. The Communications Section handles all matters related to the registration and settlement of receivables resulting from telecommunications contracts.
The task of the Communications Section is to ensure and maintain continuous telephone communication for the entire Silesian University of Technology in Gliwice, which also includes faculties and local centers in Katowice, Rybnik and Zabrze, and to maintain the continuous operation of the telecommunications network and system, its management, configuration and maintenance of communication facilities.
The Communications Section is also responsible for the expansion of the telecommunications network in the newly created facilities of the Silesian University of Technology.
The purpose of the Communications Section is also to provide all assistance, consultations, as well as accepting and repairing damage to communications equipment.
