HealthTech Innovation Conference
Over 200 people - scientists, medical doctors, representatives of business and centres related to medicine and sport - take part in the "HealthTech Innovation Conference" . For two days, the participants of the meeting will discuss topics related to, among others, biomedical engineering, bioinformatics and medical robots.
The conference takes place at the European Centre of Innovative Technologies for Health in Zabrze. - "HealthTech Innovation Conference" is a conference that we started in 2012 under the name: Silesian Biomedical Engineering. The meeting is a platform for cooperation and exchange of experiences between engineers, medical doctors, physiotherapists, representatives of sport and defence - said prof. Marek Gzik, director of EHTIC.
The thematic scope that will be discussed during the conference is wide. On the first day, Olga Rudneva from Ukraine, representing the Superhumans Centre in Lviv, presented the needs of this centre, which aims to help victims of the war in Ukraine. - Conference participants will also discuss trends in the development of technologies for the needs of medicine and sports - let me remind you here of our special research with the participation of Robert Lewandowski. Issues related to technologies in cardiology and oncology as well as sports support, rehabilitation, preoperative planning and personalized medicine will also be discussed - added prof. Marek Gzik.
The conference also includes a meeting of the deans of faculties of all universities in Poland, where biomedical engineering is taught. - The education process should be constantly improved, which is why we meet in an interdisciplinary environment, among doctors, engineers, technicians and decide about the future of biomedical engineering and medicine in Poland - said prof. Zbigniew Paszenda, dean of the Faculty of Biomedical Engineering at the Silesian University of Technology.
The conference is also attended by business representatives who work, among others in the field of medicine. - The Silesian University of Technology is a key partner for us. We see great potential when it comes to cooperation between universities, hospitals and medical entities with a company such as Philips, i.e. a global manufacturer of advanced medical solutions. This conference is also an opportunity to share experiences, talk and think about what to do next - emphasized Michał Kępowicz from Philips Healthcare.
