Conference "Optimisation of the waste sorting process - non-ferrous metals"

8 April 2022 the Department of Technologies and Installations for Waste Management at the Silesian University of Technology and the Foundation for Recovery of Aluminium Packaging RECAL organise a conference "Optimisation of the waste sorting process - non-ferrous metals". The meeting will be held in a blended form.

The aim to achieve high levels of recycling of municipal waste requires the use of the best available technologies for sorting and processing. The municipal installations are a key factor in the waste management system. This is where the waste stream is delivered, from which raw materials for recycling are separated. Therefore, to increase the amount of separated secondary raw materials, it is necessary to optimise the sorting process. In order to become competitive in the market, managers of municipal installations should think about their expansion and modernisation, take management measures so that they achieve the levels of recovery and recycling, while meeting legal requirements.

During the conference, details of research on the effectiveness of the process of sorting non-ferrous metals, with particular emphasis on aluminium packaging, will be presented.

The event is addressed to municipal waste management practitioners, in particular to representatives of local governments, municipal installations, waste management companies and representatives of companies providing technical solutions for the separation of non-ferrous metals.

The organisers have invited experts from the waste management industry, scientists and practitioners as speakers. Their papers are intended to become a platform for the exchange of knowledge and experience in the subject of optimal waste management, including the conduct of the non-ferrous metal sorting process.

Date of the conference: 8 April (Friday), from 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Place: Education and Congress Centre, ul. 18 B Konarskiego Street, 44-100 Gliwice, Hall A

Deadline for submission: 31 MARCH 2022.
