Balance Formula - take care of your mental health

Free consultations with psychologists and psychotherapists, lectures on mental health, stress management training and relaxation workshops - the project "Balance formula - take care of mental health" will be implemented at the Silesian University of Technology from the 15th to 16th November 2024. The event will be held as part of the City-Region-Academy program.

“Balance Formula – take care of mental health” is a two-day event that will take place in the Library of the Silesian University of Technology. Its aim is to increase awareness of mental health prevention among the entire academic community of the University.

On the first day, November 15, from 16:00 to 20:00, there will be free psychological consultations for all interested parties. Participants will also be able to take advantage of the advice of specialists in Ukrainian and English. Consultations may also address problems that interested parties see among their loved ones (for example, academic teachers among students or young people among peers or parents in children).

The second day, November 16, from 10:00 to about 20:30 will be devoted to the broadly understood prevention of mental health. Participants will learn how to identify disturbing symptoms of psychological problems in themselves and their loved ones, as well as how to react in difficult situations and where to seek help. As part of the event, workshops on stress management techniques, emotions management and breathing techniques will be held to reduce tensions and calm the mind. There will also be a relaxation session and finally – a concert of crystal bowls, i.e. a relaxation session in soothing sounds.

We invite students, PhD students, academic teachers, administrative staff as well as their families to participate – the event is open to all.

The event is a response to the psychological problems observed by specialists, especially among students, resulting from the effects of isolation during a pandemic, inability to cope with long-term stress, lack of ability to establish and maintain relationships, understanding of one’s own emotions and conscious expression of them.

Admission to the event is free, refreshments are also provided for participants. Prior enrolment is required.
