Logistics Students on a Study Trip to the Tricity

From May 11th to May 17th of this year, first-semester Master's students in Logistics from the Faculty of Organization and Management of the Silesian University of Technology participated in a study trip to the Tricity, which provided an excellent opportunity to expand their knowledge of logistics and integration, and to learn about logistics processes occurring in the Tricity.

The students visited the TRISTAR traffic control center in Gdynia, where they were shown how traffic is controlled in the Tricity. They learned the ins and outs of cameras and their integration with main systems. They also saw how bus lanes are designed in the Tricity area. They also attended a lecture given by Mr. Sebastian Maciołek, Head of the Traffic Lights and Transport Planning Department.

The highlight of the program was a visit to the Gdańsk University of Technology. The students were welcomed by the student research group and Dr. Agnieszka Maczyszyn in front of the university's main building. They then attended a lecture by Professor Jakub Montewka on risk analysis in maritime transport. The students were given a guided tour of the entire Gdańsk University of Technology campus, seeing the various laboratories, classrooms, and facilities available at the university.

The group had the opportunity to explore the entire Tricity area, learn about its history, and sample local cuisine. The students visited the Gdynia Oceanarium and the Museum of the Second World War. They also took a walk around the Baltic Hub. They saw the investments currently underway in Pomerania. They also spent time together, which perfectly complemented the entire trip.

Thanks are also due to the students' supervisors, Professor Marzena Kramarz and Dr. Edyta Przybylska. Thanks to their commitment and effort, the students were able to expand their practical knowledge and spend time together in an atmosphere of integration and collaboration. This trip will forever be remembered by the participants as an incredible experience.
