Faculty of Organization and Management

On March 11, students from the Cognitive Technologies and Social Media program at the Silesian University of Technology participated in a special lecture series at the headquarters of ZPWiK Sp. z o.o. in Zabrze. The visit was initiated by Prof. Aleksandra Kuzior, Dean of the Faculty of Organization and Management.

The main topic of the event was “SMARTFLOW – A Modern Water and Sewage Network Management System”. This advanced system collects, analyzes, and visualizes data from various devices and IT systems in one place. Its implementation aims to significantly reduce response times, detect hidden leaks faster, and minimize water losses. Additionally, SMARTFLOW is expected to lower water production costs and enhance the security of water supply for Zabrze residents.

The lectures were conducted by:

• Dominik Mazur – Chief Specialist for Standardization and Optimization of Technical Processes at ZPWiK Sp. z o.o.
• Aleksander Kieczka – Representative of Future Processing SA

Students also had the opportunity to engage with the experts by asking questions about the system's capabilities, water sources in Zabrze, water consumption, and methods for handling pipeline failures.

This event, part of the broader collaboration between ZPWiK and the Faculty of Organization and Management, provided young professionals with valuable insights into the water and sewage industry and the modern technologies shaping its future.
