Faculty of Organization and Management

In the summer semester of 2023/2024, the Faculty of Organization and Management at the Silesian University of Technology implemented an activity within the "Excellence Initiative – Research University" Program. The project, titled "Personal Branding," was led by Dr. hab. Małgorzata Koszembar-Wiklik, Professor of the Silesian University of Technology, and carried out with students from the Fine Arts High School in Zabrze, which is one of the schools with which the Silesian University of Technology has a cooperation agreement.

The aim of the project was to familiarize participants with the principles of conscious personal brand development.

Workshop methods were used in the project, including analysis of recorded public speaking performances in front of a camera, games aimed at developing argumentation skills, and exercises demonstrating the importance of both verbal and non-verbal communication. Additionally, participants analyzed secondary source materials, focusing on social media profiles. The final method used was an experiment involving graphic materials—students prepared photos that were then evaluated by an external audience.

The project allowed participants to:

• Learn and understand the principles and significance of conscious personal brand creation.
• Gain knowledge about self-presentation tactics.
• Identify their own strengths and areas of improvement.
• Prepare personal presentations and submit them for critical evaluation.
• Understand the impact of various materials posted on social media on personal branding.
• Conduct an experiment showing how physical appearance influences the personality traits attributed to individuals.
