Three Minute Thesis® Eliminations – Polish your English!
For the first time at the Silesian University of Technology, the Three Minute Thesis® competition was held in English. The elimination round took place at the Center for New Technologies and featured PhD students from universities across Silesia who were eager to test their communication skills and share their scientific work.
This year marked the first opportunity for doctoral students from Silesian universities to hone their science communication skills in English during the Three Minute Thesis® – Polish your English competition. The event consisted of a pre-selection round, during which the jury evaluated video presentations, followed by a live elimination round at the Center for New Technologies. Participants included young researchers from the Silesian University of Technology, the Medical University of Silesia, and the University of Economics in Katowice.

The final of Three Minute Thesis® – Polish your English will take place on June 6 at 5:00 PM in the Library of the Silesian University of Technology. The event is open to the public and will also be streamed live on the university’s official YouTube channel.
The competition is organized by the Center for the Popularization of Science, the University Council of Doctoral Students, and the Doctoral School of the Silesian University of Technology. The event is held under the patronage of the National Association of Doctoral Students, the Science Popularization Council of the Polish Academy of Sciences, and EURECA-PRO. The engineering award is sponsored by EMT-Systems.
Registration for the Silesian edition of the 3MT® competition in Polish will open in the second half of May. The elimination rounds and the final are scheduled for November 2025.
