- Who can sign a Cotutelle agreement?
-A contract can be concluded between universities if the doctoral student has been accepted to both a doctoral school at the home university and a partner school (including a foreign school) that is willing to cooperate.
-Each agreement is for a specific individual and is tailored to his or her individual study and research plan. - Cotutelle contract template
-The standard contract template can be adapted to the partner university's regulations.
-The partner university can also provide its own model agreement, but it needs to be modified to meet Polish regulations. - Dissertation language
-The doctoral student prepares one dissertation in the language established in the agreement.
-If the dissertation is written in a foreign language, an abstract in Polish is required. - Educational program and schedule
-The educational program is carried out at both universities.
-The schedule of the doctoral student's stays at each university is agreed upon with the supervisors and university units.
-The schedule of stays, educational program and IPB are included in the contract or annex. - Dissertation defense
-The location of the dissertation defense (stationary or online) must be agreed upon in the contract.
-If the defense is stationary, the contract should include information on the sharing of travel and stay expenses of the doctoral committee.
