COTUTELLE AGREEMENTS
What is Cotutelle?
Cotutelle is an interuniversity cooperation program that allows doctoral students to carry out research and prepare their dissertation under the supervision of two universities - the home university and a partner university (including a foreign university). Such cooperation is formalized by the signing of a cotutelle agreement, which specifies the conditions under which joint doctoral research supervision takes place.
Through the cotutelle agreement, a doctoral student can:
Complete the training program at both universities, gaining comprehensive experience and the benefits of access to the research facilities and infrastructure of both institutions.
Write a single dissertation, the defense of which takes place before a joint doctoral committee appointed by both universities.
Obtain a double doctoral degree: after a successful defense, the doctoral student receives a degree conferred by both the home and partner universities.
Thanks to the cotutelle program, doctoral students can carry out ambitious research projects in collaboration with outstanding specialists from different countries, which increases their chances of advancing their scientific careers internationally.
