The Gliwice Luminescence Laboratory is a part of the Institute of Physics – Centre for Science and Education at the Silesian University of Technology. The laboratory was created in the early eighties of the twentieth century by prof. Pazdur and prof. Bluszcz and they also published the first studies addressing key aspects related to using luminescence phenomena for dating in Poland.
Currently, the Gliwice luminescence laboratory is the most modern laboratory in Poland offering the highest standards in luminescence dating. Laboratory is also significantly involved in methods and equipment developing for OSL dating.
