Graduate profile

The full-time bachelor's degree in Technical Physics is a seven-semester course ending with the diploma of engineer of technical physics. The graduates are prepared to design and operate specialist research and measurement apparatuses and conduct measurements using advanced research techniques. Alumni receive necessary education in physics and mathematics as well as in selected areas of technology - computer science and information technology and basics of electronics. The graduate's knowledge is complemented by the knowledge conveyed within the specialised subjects, concentrated around high vacuum technology, measurement methods, including mainly spectroscopic and microscopic methods requiring vacuum conditions, control of measurements and analysis of experimental results. Thanks to this, the graduate is well prepared to work in teams consisting of specialists representing various fields of science and technology and has the basis for solving problems arising at the junction of different fields.
Within the block of basic courses, the graduates will acquire knowledge and skills in the following areas: general physics, mathematical analysis, engineering graphics and computer-aided design, basics of programming, experimental methods of physics, numerical methods, methods of phenomenon simulation and measurement automation. Specialised subjects include selected issues in the field of: vacuum apparatus, high vacuum technology, control systems, sensors of physical and chemical quantities, isotopic methods, programming controllers and controllers, and operating databases. The graduate's knowledge and skills are complemented by subjects in economics, business organisation and legal foundations of economic activity.
