Duration
7 semesters
Title achieved
bachelor in engineering
Criteria for admission
A person may be admitted to the first degree programme in the field of Technical Physics if he/she holds a secondary school leaving certificate, which is equivalent to passing the matriculation examination in mathematics at the basic level.
For graduates of general secondary schools who took the matriculation examination in 2015 and later, and for graduates of technical secondary schools in 2016 and 2017: mathematics at basic level as the main subject and one additional subject at extended level - to choose: mathematics, physics with astronomy, chemistry, biology, computer science
For general secondary school graduates who took the matura exam in 2014 and previous years, and for technical secondary school graduates in 2015 and previous years: mathematics at basic level as the main subject and one additional subject - to choose: mathematics at extended level or the following subjects at basic or extended level: physics with astronomy, chemistry, biology, computer science
Candidates who have passed the old secondary school leaving examination will have their grades converted into points; the grade from the secondary school leaving examination in writing or, if there is no such grade, the final grade from compulsory subjects and classes will be taken into account.
Points (% of the result from the secondary school leaving examination) in mathematics on the basic level (W1, main result) and one subject on an extended level: mathematics, physics with astronomy, chemistry, biology, computer science (W2, additional result) are taken into account in the qualification for the Technical Physics course.
P=0.4*W1+0.6*W2
For those who passed Matura in 2014 or earlier, Matura in mathematics on extended level or one subject on basic level (physics with astronomy, chemistry, biology, computer science) can be taken as the second result (W2). In the case of choosing subject at basic level, the second component is multiplied by 0.5, i.e.
P=0.4*W1+0.6*0.5*W2
Other situations concerning the calculation of the number of points awarded (attention: winners of Olympiads!) are described on the website
