Prize of the Minister of Education and Science for Prof. Andrzej J. Nowak
On Polish Science Day, the winners of the Prize of the Minister of Education and Science were announced at the Polish Science Gala. Among the prestigious group of those honored was Professor Andrzej Nowak, who received a lifetime achievement award.
The awards of the Minister of Science and Education were given to 66 scientists. The laureates were honored for their merits in five categories: for significant achievements in scientific, teaching, implementation, organizational and lifetime achievement activities.
Prof. Andrzej J. Nowak works in the Department of Thermal Engineering at the Faculty of Environmental Engineering and Power Engineering of the Silesian University of Technology. His scientific work includes mathematical modeling of heat flow processes, numerical fluid mechanics, sensitivity analysis in heat flow processes. He is the author or co-author of 36 books and chapters in books and more than 130 articles in scientific journals. The professor is also a reviewer of 23 doctoral theses, 6 habilitation theses and a reviewer of 5 professorial applications.
He is a representative of Poland in the EUROTHERM Committee, a member of the Scientific Committee of the International Centre for Heat and Mass Transfer, a member of the International Association for Boundary Element Methods and the Polish Society for Computer Methods in Mechanics.
