Meeting with Prof. Stanisław Mierzwiński
On November 25, 2014, as part of the "Intelligent Power Engineer" Seminar of the Klaster 3x20 Association, a meeting with Professor Stanisław Mierzwiński - one of the oldest graduates of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering - took place at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering.
Professor Mierzwiński, who will soon be 90 years old, started the first semester of studies at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering in May 1945, i.e. when the Silesian University of Technology was founded, still with a temporary seat in Krakow. From October 1945, he continued his studies at the newly created academic center in Gliwice. Subsequent academic degrees and titles of prof. Mieździeński obtained his qualifications at the present Faculty of Environmental and Power Engineering. In 2005, he was awarded the honorary title of Honorary Professor of the Silesian University of Technology for his sixty-year contribution to the development and creation of scientific foundations of environmental engineering, in particular in the field of ventilation, heating and atmosphere protection.
