Scientific Circle "Gwarek"
Student Scientific Circle "Gwarek" at the specialty Underground Construction and Surface Protection has been active since 1990. It brings together students particularly interested in the following areas of knowledge:
- geomechanics,
- underground construction,
- protection of the surface against the effects of mining activities,
- protection and preservation of historical underground structures,
- housing of mining excavations,
- maintenance and decommissioning of mining excavations,
- diagnostics of underground structures and mining enclosures.
Students, members of the Circle can pursue their scientific interests in cooperation with employees of the Department of Geomechanics and Underground Construction.
The circle carries out activities by organizing scientific meetings and field trips to active and historic mining plants, and other interesting places. The topics of meetings and places we visit are selected in consultation with all members of the Circle.
