Department of Safety Engineering

On 26 January 2026, students of the Safety Engineering programme took part in a specialist training session held at the Regional Labour Inspectorate in Katowice. The meeting offered a unique opportunity to learn about the practical aspects of the State Labour Inspectorate’s operations and the real challenges related to occupational safety.

During the session, Inspectors of the National Labour Inspectorate presented key topics, including:

• the scope of activities and the legal basis for inspections carried out by the State Labour Inspectorate,

• legal aspects related to various forms of employment,

• case study analyses of accidents occurring in different transmission sectors.

The following experts shared their knowledge and experience:

• Waldemar Korczak – Deputy Regional Labour Inspector for Supervision,
• Dorota Grabczyńska-Wójcik – Deputy Regional Labour Inspector for Organisation,
• Zbigniew Latacz – Senior Labour Inspector,
• Tomasz Musiałik – Senior Labour Inspector.

The students express their sincere gratitude for the opportunity to participate in the training, for the valuable insights provided, and for the openness and engagement of the presenters.
