Student research group “FUSE”
Student research group “Fuse” was founded in 2000. Its supervisor is Adam Duda, PhD. The club was founded on the initiative of students of the Technology and Organization of Occupational Health and Safety at the Faculty of Safety Engineering.
The purpose of the group is:
developing and shaping scientific activities among interested students who actively participate in the circle’s activities,
conducting scientific research work to develop students’ research independence and in-depth mastery of knowledge,
expanding students’ knowledge and practical skills,
organizing and developing student culture in the broadest sense,
developing the organizational and interpersonal skills of group members,
organizing and participating in scientific meetings and discussions, readings, lectures, courses, conventions and scientific conferences,
cooperation with national and foreign institutions and scientific societies, participation in national and international scientific movement and development of international contacts and scientific cooperation,
promoting the activities of the club, Department and Faculty of Mining, Safety Engineering and Industrial Automation of Silesian University of Technology.
The research group is active in the areas of:
occupational safety management,
ergonomics,
computer science,
labor law.
The scientific group “Fuse” carried out the following seminar workshops:
“Getting acquainted with the practical aspects of the State Labour Inspection”. – District Inspectorate of State Labour Inspection – Katowice.
“Getting to know the practical aspects of functioning of the Work Safety Management System at the Opel Polska Plant”- Opel Polska Plant in Gliwice.
“Familiarisation with the functioning of the production line and organisational solutions in the area of occupational health and safety at Browary Tyskie S.A. – Browary Tyskie S.A. – Tychy.
“Familiarisation with the organisational solutions and technical safeguards in the area of occupational health and safety as well as food hygiene in the DANONE plant in Bieruń. – Danone Poland Plant in Bieruń.
“Familiarizing with technical and organizational solutions in the area of safety and hygiene at work and with the production process at the Glassworks in Stronie Śląskie. – Glassworks in Stronie Śląskie.
“New solutions and legal regulations in the area of work safety and hygiene. – Międzybrodzie Bialskie.
“Familiarizing with implemented H&S and Fire Safety solutions in large facilities” in Żywiec. – Żywiec.
“Familiarizing oneself with the functioning of the process line and the applied OHS solutions in Żywiec Brewery, Żywiec S.A. Group. – Żywiec Brewery in Żywiec.
“Familiarization with the protections and technical solutions applied in the area of occupational health and safety at the Porąbka-Żar Peak-and-Pump Power Plant. – Porąbka Żar.
“Getting acquainted with functioning of OHS department and modern solutions applied in the area of work safety and hygiene at GZUT S.A. in Gliwice. – Gliwice.
Members of the Scientific Group “Fuse” took an active part in the organization and participated in Student Departmental Scientific Conferences of the Faculty of Mining, Safety Engineering and Industrial Automation.
