Those who would like to revisit selected topics discussed during the CorrDay event, as well as those who were unable to attend the April ceremony, are invited to another meeting in the “CzAS po godzinach” (Time after work) series, organized at the Student Activity Center of the Silesian University of Technology.

The guests of the meeting will be mgr inż. Aleksander Olesiński and dr inż. Maciej Sowa, who will talk about their ongoing research on the corrosion of guitar strings and attempts to analyze this phenomenon through changes in sound. The experiments involved, among other things, acoustic and electric guitars, an artificial sweat solution, and a fragment of a Metallica song, allowing for an interesting combination of electrochemistry and musical culture.

The meeting will take place in the context of the upcoming Metallica concert at the Silesian Stadium, providing an additional and engaging background for the topic discussed.

The meeting will be hosted by dr inż. Bogusław Ziębowicz as part of the Science with Culture series. In addition to strictly scientific topics, the event will also provide an opportunity to talk about the researchers’ interests beyond science and how scientific work can intertwine with everyday passions.
