Holidays are just around the corner, but not everyone was resting at that time.

On August 27-31, 2023, one of the largest scientific and technical congresses on the phenomenon of corrosion - EuroCorr 2023 The Annual Congress of the European Federation of Corrosion (EFC) was held in Brussels (Belgium).

The first event of this type took place in 1956 in Paris (France), so almost 70 years ago! Even the most experienced participants of the congress had no chance to remember the first EuroCorr, but it is known that this annual meeting attracts crowds of corrosion enthusiasts from around the globe.

This year, as many as 1,002 delegates came to Brussels, including three from our Electrochemistry Group. The conference was an excellent opportunity to learn about the current trends in the methodology of corrosion testing, find out what problems the representatives of the industry plagued by corrosion are struggling with and establish contacts that give a chance for long-term cooperation in the field of science or commercialization.

During the congress, of course, there was also a chance to share the progress of our own research work. This time it was research related to the LIDER project, financed by the National Centre for Research and Development, and managed by Maciej Sowa (project no.: LIDER/30/0116/L-11/19/NCBR/2020). The trip was certainly successful. Next year, EuroCorr will return to Paris right after the end of the Olympic Games (01-05.09.2024). Perhaps our employees will also have the opportunity to represent us during the next congress.
