A new project financed by the National Science Centre at the Faculty of Chemistry
Dr. DSc, Eng. Katarzyna Szymańska, Professor at the Department of Chemical Engineering and Process Design, Silesian University of Technology, has secured funding in the prestigious OPUS29 National Science Centre competition.
The project value is PLN 1,995,700.
The project, titled "Biocatalysis and Photocatalysis in the Flow Synthesis of High-Value Chemicals," will be implemented in a consortium with the West Pomeranian University of Technology in Szczecin, in collaboration with Dr. DSc, Eng. Ewelina Kusiak-Nejman, Professor at West Pomeranian University of Technology. The aim of the research is to develop modern, more ecological methods for the synthesis of high-value-added compounds used in the pharmaceutical, cosmetics, and food industries, among others, using biocatalysis, photocatalysis, and innovative flow reactors.
