Technical Production Planning Supported by ICT Technologies
The presentation will cover the subject of computer-aided design and manufacturing (CAD/CAM), with a focus on elements of Industry 4.0, particularly as applied in the aerospace and automotive industries. It will showcase real-world workflows of technical data and documentation management used in major aerospace corporations (such as Boeing and Lockheed Martin), supported by numerous examples in production planning, including the design of assembly lines whose processes have been fully digitized.
A key component of the Industry 4.0 paradigm is the implementation of digital twin technology, enabling simulation, optimization, and real-time monitoring of every phase of the production process. This includes, for example, the optimal positioning of assembly jigs using laser projection systems. The presentation will also demonstrate how international cooperation is carried out in real time today.
Additionally, the role within the supply chain will be clarified, including the distinction and interrelation between EBOM (Engineering Bill of Materials) and MBOM (Manufacturing Bill of Materials).
The presentation will provide insights into, among others:
- Operational aspects of the design process
- The role of the virtual world in engineering
- Digital twins of products and manufacturing systems
- Production planning: past vs. present
- ICT applications in international collaboration
- Example of an ICT-based enterprise system
- Executive Cockpit (Management Dashboard)
- Integrated information flow within an enterprise
- Practical workflow and utilization of CAD/CAM models
- Virtual machining on CNC equipment using the VERICUT system
- Case studies from the aerospace and automotive industries in low-volume and single-unit production
- The Industry 4.0 Revolution
- European Funds for the Modern Economy (FENG) 2021–2027 – Digitization module
