Automatica Expo 2025 Conference
On May 14–15, 2025, the Automatica Expo conference took place in Warsaw, gathering professionals, researchers, and industry leaders to discuss the latest developments in automation, robotics, and digital transformation of industry. Among the distinguished speakers was MSc Eng. Wojciech Jamrozik from the Silesian University of Technology, who delivered the opening lecture titled "Artificial Intelligence in Automation and Robotics."
The presentation focused on current trends and applications of artificial intelligence in modern production systems. It addressed the use of AI for process optimization, adaptive control, predictive maintenance, and intelligent data analysis in industrial robotics and automation. The lecture highlighted how AI technologies are transforming industrial operations, making them more efficient, flexible, and data-driven.
This subject matter closely aligns with the goals of the Priority Research Area 5 (POB5) – Automation and Process Robotics, which is part of the Silesian University of Technology’s strategic initiative as a research university. POB5 supports interdisciplinary scientific research and technological development in areas such as Industry 4.0, collaborative robotics, cyber-physical systems, and artificial intelligence – all of which were covered in the lecture.
The event also served as an excellent opportunity to present the work and capabilities of the Center for Industry 4.0 at the Silesian University of Technology. The Center plays a vital role in supporting companies in their digital transformation by offering assessments of technological readiness, feasibility studies for implementing advanced technologies, and research cooperation with academic experts. It is a key component of the university’s innovation ecosystem, contributing to the practical deployment of Industry 4.0 solutions.
Participation in Automatica Expo 2025 reflects the Silesian University of Technology’s strong engagement in bridging the gap between academia and industry and showcases its leading role in advancing automation and robotics in Poland and beyond. The lecture was met with great interest, emphasizing the university's position as a major research and innovation hub in the field.
