The Baltic University Program (BUP) Summer School
We invite you to participate in the summer school as part of the Baltic University Program (BUP). The theme of the event will be “Baltic Sea Environment and Coastal Development.”
The BUP Summer School will take place from the 2nd to the 9th of August 2026 in Klaipeda, Lithuania. Students and PhD students will explore the sensitive environment of the Baltic Sea, both on land and at sea, under the guidance of leading experts from across the region. One day of the summer school will take place on board the Brabander sailing ship belonging to the University of Klaipeda, sailing from Klaipeda to Lipawa, where tests and samples will be taken. The participants will also get acquainted with the unique coastal environment of the Curonian Spit and visit the Sventoji settlement and the Seaside Regional Park, where they will learn about the impact of climate change, loss of biodiversity and human factors occurring in the unique environment of the Baltic Sea and about the solutions that can be found in this regard. The tours will be accompanied by lectures and seminars.
