“Zębatki 2026” handed out!
On March 13th, 2026, the Student Environment Gala of the Silesian University of Technology - “Zębatki 2026” took place. During the event, people, projects, organizations, and science clubs which were especially distinguished in 2025 were awarded.
“Zębatki” are distinctions awarded by students. The event was opened by the President of the University Board of Student Self-Government, Eng. Błażej Brudny, who expressed his gratitude to the University authorities for their support and involvement in student initiatives. Then, the Rector of the Silesian University of Technology, Prof. Marek Pawełczyk and Vice-Rector for Student Affairs and Education Prof. Anna Chrobok in their speeches, drew attention to the importance of student activity and emphasized the important role of the involvement of the academic community in the development of the University.
In the first categories, it was the academic community who decided on the winners by casting their votes.

In addition, the distinction of the President of the Student Self-Government of the Silesian University of Technology was awarded to Prof. Anna Chrobok for special support and involvement in student activities.
The ceremony was graced with artistic performances by students of the Karol Szymanowski Academy of Music n Katowice - Laura Iwaniuk, Julia Stawarz-Gajek and Mikołaj Skoczek, who gave the event a unique, elegant character.
The “Zębatki” Gala once again showed that the strength of the Silesian University of Technology are people full of passion, energy, and willingness to act.
