A special route of the mobile promotional laboratory of the Silesian University of Technology “Xperium SUT” with a scientific mission to secondary schools of the Silesian Voivodeship is coming to an end. The event enjoyed great interest of pupils.

“Xperium SUT” has already had the opportunity to promote the educational offer of our University among secondary school pupils and met with great interest. This time it started a new tour as part of a scientific mission.

- The joint initiative of the Silesian University of Technology and the Education Board is an important step toward building a conscious and modern society. The mobile laboratory, which set out on a scientific mission to secondary schools in the region, allowed young people to encounter science in a practical and inspiring way – explains the Vice-Rector for Student Affairs and Education Prof. Dr Hab. Eng. Anna Chrobok.

The route of scientists of the Silesian University of Technology together with a mobile laboratory included such schools as:

• Vocational Technical School No. 4 named after Hanna and Kazimierz Wejchert in Tychy,
• Secondary Comprehensive School named after Silesian Insurgents in Bierun
• The 4^th Secondary Comprehensive School named after Maria Skłodowska-Curie in Chorzów,
• The 1^st Secondary Comprehensive School named after S. Sempołowska in Tarnowskie Góry,
• The 3^rd Secondary Comprehensive School with Bilingual branches
  named after Gustaw Morcinek in Ruda Śląska,
• Vocational Technical School No. 6 in Zabrze in Zabrze General and Vocational Training Centre in Zabrze
• Transport Technical School No. 4 in Sosnowiec,
• Vocational Economic Technical School No. 1   at the Centre for Vocational and Continuing Education in Sosnowiec,
• The 2^nd Secondary Comprehensive School in School Complex No. 2 in Jastrzębie-Zdrój,
• Vocational Technical School in Pszów in the Secondary School Complex in Pszów,
• Secondary Comprehensive School Complex named after John Paul II in Pawłowice,
• Vocational Technical School No. 2 in the Civil Engineering School Complex named after General Stanisław Maczek in Bielsko-Biała,
• Vocational Technical School No. 2 in Technical Scientific Works in Dąbrowa Górnicza,
• Vocational Technical School No. 1 at the Centre for Vocational and continuing Education in Mysłowice.

- We want to show that science is not abstract – it has a real impact on our lives, and their knowledge is crucial in the context of the ongoing digital and green transformation. We believe that direct contact with experiment and modern technologies can arouse curiosity, passion and courage to choose an educational path related to science and engineering. It is also an investment in the future – both for young people and the entire region – adds Vice-Rector Anna Chrobok.
