Cooperation of the Silesian University of Technology with FCA Poland

Exchange of experience, improvement of educational programs, organization of internships or student work placements, appointment of a team of specialists for strategic technical and organizational solutions - these are only some of the issues that will be implemented as part of cooperation between the Silesian University of Technology and FCA Poland, which is part of the Stellantis concern. On February 16, 2023, the agreement was signed by: Rector of the Silesian University of Technology, prof. Arkadiusz Mężyk and Tomasz Gębka, director of the Tychy FCA Poland plant.

The signed contract is a continuation of the University's long-term cooperation with the factory, which currently produces Jeep Avenger, Fiat 500, Abarth and Lancia Y models. – We are continuing this cooperation, expanding its scope. The FCA Poland plant in Tychy has always been a place where students could learn about the latest technologies and our employees could see what's new in the field of manufacturing technology and organization of production processes. At the moment, new areas of this cooperation are opening up related to information technologies, Industry 4.0, artificial intelligence and its application in production processes - said the rector of the Silesian University of Technology, prof. Arkadiusz Mężyk. 

As part of the cooperation, students will be able to work at the factory internships and apprenticeships as well as carry out diploma theses. The university will also support the plant in solving current problems that arise in the production or organizational process.

– This agreement is a continuation of many years of very good cooperation between the Silesian University of Technology and our factory. The university has a huge scientific potential and modern laboratories. There are also many students and young engineers here who are creative and can contribute a lot to both the world of science and industry - said Tomasz Gębka, director of the Tychy FCA Poland plant.

Under the agreement, the topics of joint research and development works will be agreed, as well as the exchange of experience in the field of knowledge management, with particular emphasis on the issues of competence development.
