World Corrosion Awareness Day
For the fourth time, the Faculty of Chemistry of the Silesian University of Technology will join the celebration of the World Corrosion Awareness Day, which will take place on April 24th, 2026.
This day is celebrated worldwide as Corrosion Awareness Day, established by the World Corrosion Organization (WCO). On this occasion, The Laboratory of Corrosion Research of the Silesian University of Technology invites you to a unique event – CorrDay.
Why is it worth talking about corrosion? Because, although often invisible, it affects our security, infrastructure, and the reality around us every day. It slowly destroys materials, generates losses, and can surprise at the least expected moment.
As part of the event, competitions with attractive prizes were prepared:
Photo Contest: Photo competition "Corrosion around us" 2026 - Laboratory of Corrosion Research
Art competition: Artistic competition “Rust Painted” 2026 - Laboratory of Corrosion Research
Experiments and renovations are also planned and the whole event will be concluded with a solemn ceremony, which will take place on April 24, 2026.
