- Children at this age are very creative, have interesting ideas and sometimes understand certain phenomena in an original way. We start with a lecture, then there will be practical workshops during which we will show models of internal combustion engines and other elements of cars. Some were made by our scientist Professor Ireneusz Szczygieł. These are working models that can be started, fired and you can see what is happening in them - said Dr Hab. Eng. Grzegorz Przybyła, prof. SUT.
Pupils from Primary School No.24 in Ruda Sląska participated in the classes.
- Such classes are very interesting for children. In addition, they saw what the university, lecture hall or laboratory looks like for the first time. It is a very big and valuable experience for them, such a touch of living science. We are grateful that we could take advantage of such an opportunity – said Justyna, a teacher from the Ruda Śląska School.
During the workshops, children could see how thermal engine models, hydrogen cells or electric motors work.
