With enthusiasm at the start of the new school year

For the seventh time the Academic Secondary Comprehensive Schools of the Silesian University of Technology in Gliwice and Rybnik inaugurated a new school year. A total of seventy-eight students joined the first class.

The inauguration of the new school year in Gliwice school was attended by Prof Dr Hab.Eng Marek Pawełczyk, the Rector of the Silesian University of Technology, and by Prof. Dr Hab. Eng. "I am very impressed with how enthusiastically the students welcomed their teachers," said Professor Marek Pawełczyk, the Rector of the Silesian University of Technology, who officially inaugurated the new school year with a symbolic bell and addressed words to first-graders. – “You are secondary school pupils, but also members of the Silesian University of Technology community. This University is here, in this building, where there is also one of its faculties, and there are others around. From the very beginning you are part of the Silesian University of Technology. Try to reach into it as deeply as possible. May you be interested in what is happening at the University. It is up to you how you use its facilities, as well as the wealth of knowledge of its academic staff. You chose this school, although it was not easy to get to it, because it already has a well-established reputation. We hope that thanks to your success, it will become even better”.

That is why I wish you that the coming years will bring you and society this progress and the benefits resulting from it” - said Prof. Bożena Skołud, Vice-Rector for General Affairs.
