Meetings of young chemists are held twice a year - in spring and winter.
- The winter meeting lasts one day, while the spring one is a few days long - says Alicja Pawlak, President of the Young Section of the Polish Chemical Society. - The aim of these meetings is to bring together students, PhD students, and young scientists so that they not only get to know each other and show a wider audience what they are doing. For them, it is also an opportunity to practice the ability to present the results of their research to a wider group – she adds.
During the conference, participants could talk to invited guests from the world of industry – representatives of companies, as well as institutions or public benefit organizations.
- The conference is interdisciplinary, but the topics presented always refer to chemistry to some extent. For example, we have participants who conduct medical research, but in terms of chemical compounds, or deal with physics so much that also in the field of chemical molecules – said Dr Paweł Czulkin, chairman of the local Organizing Committee of the event at the Silesian University of Technology.
