We know the winners of the Holiday GeoFotka competition

We already know the winners of the fourth edition of the Holiday Geofotka competition. The organizers received as many as 515 applications this year. Kinga Kovács won the best photography category.

This year’s edition took place as part of the European City of Science Katowice 2024. This contributed to the increased reach and prestige of the competition. The event attracted more than three times more participants than in previous years. The competition received as many as 515 entries from pupils from 121 secondary schools from all over Poland.

The competition, which consisted of taking a picture of the geological object and a brief description of this object, enjoyed interest both in large urban centres and smaller towns.

In the category “Best Photography,” the jury selected the following winners:

I place - Kinga Kovács from II Secondary Comprehensive School named after Andrzej Frycz Modrzewski in Rybnik

II place ex aequo - Patryk Spałek from First Bilingual Secondary Comprehensive School named after E. Dembowski in Gliwice and Konrad Kovács from the Academic Secondary Comprehensive School of the Silesian University of Technology in Rybnik

III place - Zuzanna Jaszek from the XVII Secondary Comprehensive School named after Agnieszka Osiecka in Wrocław

In the category "Best Picture Description" won:

I place ex aequo - Karolina Szwala from the Elite Secondary Comprehensive School named after Jan III Sobieski in Nowy Sącz and Konrad Kovács from the Academic Secondary Comprehensive School of the Silesian University of Technology in Rybnik

II place - Oliwia Lorent from the School of Fashion Industry and Advertising Named after W.S. Reymont in Częstochowa

III place - Weronika Rybarz from the Academic Secondary Comprehensive School of the Silesian University of Technology in Rybnik.
