We are tightening cooperation with the Medical University of Silesia

After many years of fruitful cooperation between the Silesian University of Technology and the Medical University of Silesia in Katowice, both universities are strengthening their mutual contacts. The Rectors: prof. Arkadiusz Mężyk and prof. Tomasz Szczepański M.D, signed a letter of intent.

The authorities of both Universities have declared their willingness to undertake extensive didactic cooperation, the aim of which is to exchange experiences leading to the development of the fields of study offered by both universities. The cooperation initiated by prof. dr hab. Eng. Marek Gzik, will concern scientific activity as part of scientific and research projects, participation in scientific conferences, expert panels and joint scientific publications. The plans also include joint training, workshops and exercises, as well as supporting each other in the organization of seminars, competitions and Open Days.

Both Universities will also cooperate in the field of mutual contacts with experts dealing with the latest medical trends.

The meeting with the authorities of the Medical University of Silesia was also attended by prof. dr hab. Eng. Zbigniew Paszenda, Dean of the Faculty of Biomedical Engineering; dr hab. Eng. Robert Michnik, Vice-Dean for Cooperation and Development and prof. dr hab. Eng. Marek Gzik, director of the European HealthTech Innovation Center (EHTIC) and chairman of the University Council of the Medical University of Silesia. Launched in 2021, the Center is equipped with world-class, state-of-the-art equipment and software, and its highly specialized laboratories and workshops are dedicated to expanding knowledge and developing technologies applicable in medicine, rehabilitation and sports.
