On Friday, 3 June, the European HealthTech Innovation Center (EHTIC) in Zabrze will host an off-site meeting and council meeting of the Warsaw Health Innovation Hub. The programme includes a meeting of the board and visiting some laboratories.
- This coming Friday the EHTIC will host the board members of the Warsaw Health Innovation Hub, the Agency for Medical Research and Philips, our strategic partner. WHIH is an organisation that was established by ABM and which brings together leading players from the medical, pharmaceutical and biotechnology sectors. The meeting is a study visit. Its aim is to present the scientific potential and ambitions of EHTIC, the Biotechnology Centre at the Silesian University of Technology and the WHIH, and also to identify areas of synergy between these entities - said Professor Marek Gzik, the director of EHTIC.
He added that one of the points of the meeting is the presentation of EHTIC's highly specialised research and development laboratories and the interesting projects that are implemented there. - Among them, we can distinguish the footballers' research programme, which aims to support training, improve performance during the match and prevent injuries. This research is carried out with the participation of osteopaths and physiotherapists. It focuses on the analysis of movement, muscle activity, balance studies and response time to external stimuli. One of the first football players to undergo this examination is the captain of the Polish national team, Robert Lewandowski - stressed Prof. Gzik.
The meeting will take place at 9:00 a.m. The WHIH Council meeting (closed meeting) is also included in the programme.
The meeting will be held in the European HealthTech Innovation Center (EHTIC) - one of the key and most important investments of this kind in Central and Eastern Europe. The Centre is a joint project of the Silesian University of Technology, the City of Zabrze and Philips. It plays a leading role in the development and implementation of innovative medical technologies.
