On the 26th -28th January, the Silesian University of Technology hosted a delegation from Urgench State University from Uzbekistan. The main purpose of the visit was to discuss potential fields for cooperation between universities. Our guests also met with of the-Rector for Science and International Cooperation, Prof. Dr. Hab. Eng. Sebastian Werle.
Last year the Silesian University of Technology signed a letter of intent on cooperation with Urgench State University. During their visit, the University from Uzbekistan was represented by lecturers and PhD students in the field of mathematics and physics. During the three-day visit, they had the opportunity to meet scientists and visit laboratories at the Faculty of Applied Mathematics, the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, and the Institute of Physics - Centre for Science and Education. Our guests from Urgench State University also visited the university campus and the Student Activity Centre.
The delegation also had a meeting with the Vice-Rector for Science and International Cooperation Prof. Dr. Hab. Eng. Sebastian Werle. The meeting, which was aimed at joint designation and discussion of potential areas for cooperation, was also attended by the Head of the International Relations Office, Dr Eng. Grzegorz Kłapyta. Representatives of universities from Uzbekistan are also keen to establish cooperation within the framework of Erasmus+.
