Visit of the authorities of Bursa Technical University from Turkey at the Silesian University of Technology
On October 22nd, 2025, a delegation of authorities from Bursa Technical University in Turkey visited the Silesian University of Technology. The meeting was an opportunity to present the potential of both Universities and discuss future cooperation.
The visit is the result of the involvement of the Rector of the Silesian University of Technology Prof. Marek Pawełczyk in the Rectors’ Forum of Poland and Turkey, which took place this year in Ankara. The Forum was an impulse to revive and further develop cooperation between Polish and Turkish universities.
The visit of representatives of Turkey to the Silesian University of Technology began with a presentation of both Universities, during which their achievements and potential were discussed. A discussion followed, during which areas of cooperation were identified, in particular the possibilities of student exchange under Erasmus+, the implementation of joint research projects under Horizon and KA2, as well as potential cooperation in scientific publications.
The meeting was attended by Prof. Marek Pawełczyk, the Rector of the Silesian University of Technology, Barbara Klemczak, Dean of the Faculty of Civil Engineering, Prof. Tomasz Bradecki, Dean of the Faculty of Architecture, Prof. Marcin Adamiak, Dean of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Dominika Raróg-Ośliźlok from the International Projects Service Office, Ludwina Żukowska, University Coordinator of the Erasmus+ Program and Joanna Hanak from the International Relations Office.
The Turkish side was represented by Prof. Dr. Naci ÇAĞLAR, Rector of Bursa Technical University, Prof. Dr. Sinan UYANIK, Vice-Rector, and Prof. Dr. Barış Tamer TONGUÇ, Vice-Rector of the University.
After the official meeting, the delegation went to the Faculty of Civil Engineering of the Silesian University of Technology, where the guests had the opportunity to familiarize themselves with modern laboratories and didactic infrastructure. The visit to the laboratories was an excellent opportunity to present advanced technologies and research carried out by the Faculty of Civil Engineering, as well as to discuss the possibilities of cooperation in the field of joint research and development projects.
This visit was another step in building lasting and effective scientific and educational relationships, aimed at enriching the experience of students and employees of both universities.
