On the 8th of May, the Silesian University of Technology was visited by representatives of Emirati universities – Prof. Ghaleb Ali Alhadrami Albreiki and Dr Eissa Al Rumaithi from UAE University and Prof. Dr Ebrahim Alhajri from Khalifa University, accompanied by Karina Iwan from the Marshal’s Office in Katowice. Guests at our University were welcomed by Prof. Dr Hab Marek Pawełczyk, Vice-Rector for Science and Development and Prof. Dr Hab Anna Chrobok, director of the College of Studies of the Silesian University of Technology.
International cooperation is a key element of the University’s activity, enabling not only the exchange of knowledge and experience, but also effectively contributes to the improvement of the quality of education.
During the European Economic Congress in Katowice, Silesian University of Technology had the honour to host a delegation from renowned universities from the United Arab Emirates, such as UAE University and Khalifa University.
Vice-Rector for Science and Development, Prof. Dr Hab Marek Pawełczyk delivered the presentation of the Silesian University of Technology, emphasizing its significant scientific potential, strong cooperation with the socio-economic environment and innovative offer of education in English. He stressed the key elements that can be the foundation for building cooperation with universities from the United Arab Emirates.
The guests expressed interest in the priority research areas implemented at the Silesian University of Technology, additionally emphasizing the dynamic cooperation with industry. A lively discussion also concerned the way of organizing project-based education at the University.
In summary, the professors expressed their admiration for the dynamic development of our University in recent years, emphasizing its significant progress and achievements.
